Anti-bifurcation protesters broke the glass panes of the BSNL office in Railway Kodur of Kadapa district on Saturdayas it was functioning despite the bandh call.
The protest was led by YSR Congress MLA K. Srinivasulu. Former Minister Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy and YSR Congress functionaries stormed the 220 kv electrical sub-station in Pulivendula on Saturday and forced electricity employees to shut down power supply. Protesters also forced shut down of an electrical sub-station at Chilekampalle. Pulivendula constituency went without power supply due to shutting down of the electrical sub-stations.
Protesters burnt an old jeep of A.P. State Cooperative Rural Irrigation Corporation on old RIMS premises in Kadapa late on Friday night.
A complete bandh was observed in Kadapa district for the second successive day on Saturday. Agitators burnt tyres on the roads at Seven Roads junction, Yerramukkapalli, on the district court road.
Sporting scarfs with “Black Day” slogan printed on them and carrying party flags, YSRC leaders S.B. Amjad Basha, T.K. Afzal Khan, B. Nityananda Reddy, Maseema Babu, Samaranatha Reddy and N. Madhava Reddy went round in cars and enforced bandh. Large number of youth went round on motorcycles, enforcing bandh and deflating tyres of some vehicles.
