An infant allegedly died on Monday while being taken to a hospital in an ambulance to Vijayawada, in which the oxygen cylinder reportedly got exhausted during the journey and there was no spare cylinder in the vehicle.

Panel constituted
However, hospital superintendent A.R. Mohan said he had constituted a committee and would take action based on its report, by Wednesday.
Ainapudi Satish Kumar and Soujanya of Veerisettigudem village in Chintalapudi mandal got married about one and half year ago and Soujanya was admitted to Eluru government hospital on November 18, and gave birth to a baby on Sunday.
When doctors found that the infant consumed amniotic fluid, they kept the infant in incubator till Monday evening and then advised the parents to take the baby to Vijayawada as its condition was critical.
On Monday night, Soujanya along with her baby left for Vijayawada in an ambulance belonging to the Eluru government hospital.
After covering 5 km, the oxygen in the cylinder in the ambulance was over leading to the baby’s death.
Satish Kumar and Soujanya alleged that the driver of the ambulance failed to check the oxygen cylinder which led to their baby’s death.
