District Collector Ch. Vijaya Mohan expressed concern on Saturday that Kurnool district lagged behind in immunising children and warned of stern action against the officials concerned if they failed to achieve the targets.
All the children under five years of age in every primary health sub-centre in the district must be immunised under Indradhanush programme, the Collector told officials in a task force meeting in his chamber.
He sought a comprehensive village-wise report on the number of children below five years of age, number of those immunised and those left out.
Mr. Vijaya Mohan asked officials to give priority to immunisation in habitations of the SC, ST and Muslim minorities and slum areas.
He urged Kurnool Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Babu and Kurnool General Hospital Superintendent Veeraswamy to initiate immunisation through door-to-door visits.
He demanded progress in a week and a cent per cent result in the immunisation drive.
Additional DMHO Raja Subba Rao, District Immunisation Officer Venkata Rao, DRDA Project Director Ramakrishna, ICDS Project Director Mutyalamma, District Panchayat Officer Swaroopa Rani and other officials took part.
