IMA cycle rally with a slogan to keep fit

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) Rajamahendravaram branch on Thursday took out a cycle rally from Anala Venkata (A.V.) Apparao Road to Arts College Grounds covering 7 km with 75 doctors, including city MLA Dr. Akula Satyanarayana.

Municipal Commissioner V. Vijayaramaraju flagged off the rally and joined the doctors’ team. Addressing the media after the rally, MLA Dr. Akula said that everyone needs at least one hour exercise a day, and those who could not come out due to various reasons had to do exercises such as yoga at home. He said present day food habits and untimely work culture were leading to different kinds of diseases, and increasing the resistance power is the only solution. He said that as an orthopaedic, he strongly advices cycling.

K. Vijayakumar of SAI Hospitals said that it was better to get a cycle to the youth when they started asking for bike as it saves life as well as petrol. GSL Medical College Chairman and All India Medical Council member Ganni Bhaskar Rao, Dr. Goli Ramarao, Kesava Swami, Ramaraju and other doctors participated.eom
