I will never hesitate to quit, says Kavuri

Union Textiles Minister Kavuri Sambasiva Rao categorically said that he had cautioned the Congress party high command in the past of serious consequences with regard to the division of the State.

‘My apprehensions came true’

Talking to the media persons here on Friday, he said that all his apprehensions nevertheless came true soon after the announcement of the decision on bifurcation.

To a query, he said that the party high command was also closely monitoring the post-announcement developments in the State.

Dwelling further, he said that he also has kept informed the UPA chairman Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi as well as the Antony Committee about the anti-bifurcation movement gaining momentum in Seemandhra region.

He also, in fact, has appealed to them to have a pragmatic approach in addressing the problems of the people of both the regions. Any decision taken should deliver equal justice to both the regions.

Mr. Kavuri, who termed the call given by APNGOs legitimate, said that he would never hesitate in relinquishing his Ministership if the decision of the Central government happens to be against the sentiment of the people of Seemandhra region.
