YSR Congress honorary president Y.S. Vijayamma on Wednesday questioned how the city of Hyderabad could be given to Telangana when people from all the three regions in the State contributed to its development.
Ms. Vijayamma, who sat on a dharna at Janta Mantar in Delhi along with several party leaders seeking equal justice to all regions in the State, said her husband and former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy wanted Andhra Pradesh to remain united. She said the State has turned into a cauldron and blamed the Congress and the TDP for the crisis. There was no governance in the State.
She said that only YSRC MLAs had submitted resignations in the required format to the Speaker.
Meanwhile in Hyderabad, YSRC spokesperson Ambati Rambabu criticised TDP leaders for attributing motives to Ms. Vijayamma’s visit. He wanted the TDP leaders to first urge their leader to spell out his stand before embarking on a yatra. Trying to pick holes in YSRC leaders’ visit to Delhi was nothing but an attempt to gain cheap publicity. He said TDP leader N. Chandrababu Naidu has no moral right to undertake yatra without withdrawing the letter he had given to the Centre.
While the YSR Congress’ stand was clear and unambiguous, Mr. Naidu had been maintaining stoic silence or making incoherent statements on the issue.
