Human sacrifice suspected at Kadapa village

May 22, 2013 03:09 am | Updated 03:09 am IST - KADAPA:

Mystery shrouded the death of Narasimha, 24, whose body was found near Pothuraju temple in Valasapalem village in Atlur mandal in Kadapa district on Tuesday, in a case of suspected “sacrifice” to a village deity.

Narasimha’s body was found lying in a pool of blood with his neck slashed and the blood smeared on the idol, making the police suspected that unknown persons might have killed him as a “sacrifice” to the deity by “treasure-hunters”. Narasimha, son of Chantaiah, was married to Venkatasubbamma three years ago and has a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter.

Atlur police have registered a case.
