Cotton bales being transported in a truck were completely burnt after coming in contact with overhead electricity wires, near Hanuman Junction police station in Krishna district on Wednesday. The driver and cleaner escaped unhurt. The truck was on its way from Edlapadu in Guntur district to a private spinning mill at Bapulapadu. By the time a fire tender reached the spot, the cotton bales were reduced to ashes. The loss is yet to be ascertained. Traffic on the National Highway was affected for a couple hours.
