The State government has hiked the ex gratia payment to the kin of victims of extremist and terrorist violence.
The government responded to the long-pending demands for increasing the compensation to police personnel, civil servants, people’s representatives like sarpanches, MLAs, MLCs and MPs killed or injured or permanently incapacitated in the extremist and terrorist violence and issued orders here on Tuesday.
The orders were issued with immediate effect.
The following are the details of existing and revised ex gratia: For MLAs, MLAs, MPs and ZP chairpersons, the ex gratia has been increased from Rs.15 lakh to Rs.35 lakh in case of death; Rs.3 lakh to Rs.10 in case of permanent disability and from Rs.1 lakh to Rs.3 lakh for grievous injuries.
The compensation to be paid to MPP presidents, ZPTC members, chairpersons of DCC banks, District Cooperative Marketing Societies, municipal corporations and committees - Rs. 25 lakh (existing Rs.10 lakh), Rs.10 lakh (Rs. 3 lakh) and Rs.1 lakh to Rs. 2 lakh.
For sarpanches, MPTC members, chairpersons of Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies, ward members of urban local bodies: Rs. 25 lakh (existing Rs. 7.5 lakh), Rs.10 lakh (Rs. 3 lakh) and Rs. 2 lakh (Rs. 1 lakh).
For civilians, the compensation in case of death or permanent disability enhanced to Rs.10 lakh and Rs. 2 lakh for injuries.
Police constables and up to rank of SI and equivalent ranks of civil servants, the ex gratia for death has been increased to Rs. 25 lakh (Rs. 9 lakh), Rs. 10 lakh for permanent incapacitation (Rs. 3.6 lakh) and Rs. 3 lakh (Rs. 2.4 lakh) for injuries.
Inspectors and above rank and equivalent rank of civil servants would get a compensation of Rs.30 lakh (Rs. 12 lakh) in case of death. For permanent disability, the compensation was increased to Rs.10 lakh from Rs.3.6 lakh and for injuries, Rs.3 lakh from Rs.2.4 lakh.
