Krishna district officials supplied about 15,000 packets of food to the Hudhud-flood ravaged districts in North Andhra on Monday.
The Civil Supplies and Revenue departments, with the help of agencies, prepared kits with tamarind rice, biscuits, curd, butter milk and water and transported them to the flood-hit areas.
Penamaluru tahsildar Murali Krishna said about 7,500 packets were packed at Tadigadapa and were supplied to Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts. Vijayawada Urban tahsildar R. Siva Rao was monitoring the food packing works at Vidyadharapuram in the city.
The food packets were transported through helicopters, said the agencies. Meanwhile, many philanthropists supplied food, water and milk packets to the flood victims in East and West Godavari and North Andhra districts.
