Horse show, rally mark NCC Day celebrations

Cadets on their well-groomed horses put up a spectacular show, galloping across the obstacles, during the 68th ‘NCC Day’ celebrations at the NCC Nagar, here on Sunday. The event is observed on the last Sunday of every November to mark the first NCC Unit established by the then Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru at Delhi in 1948.

The NCC Group Headquarters – Tirupati, is currently imparting training to 12,542 cadets hailing from both urban and rural colleges. It may be recalled that cadets of the group have secured fifth position in IGC RDC competition at DTE level, 10 of them were selected to represent NCC DTE (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) for National Games, Thal Sena Camp and Republic Day Parade. Sri Venkateswara University Vice-Chancellor A. Damodaram, NCC Group Commander V.K.Vittal, officers and others took part in the celebrations.

Rally

The cadets of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) from different colleges and schools in and around Nellore city took part in a rally organised on the waste management practices to mark the 68th foundation day of the NCC here.

The cadets of the NCC 10 Andhra naval and 24 Andhra army wings participated in the rally.

VRC College principal C.V.S Bhasker speaking on the occasion called upon the cadets to follow the great ideals and principles upheld by the NCC and strive to inculcate the values in the society at large.

NCC naval unit divisional wing commander N. Prabhakar was present.
