A youth of M Venkatayapalem in Khammam rural mandal on Sunday consumed poison at the site where K. Mamata, 20, a victim of suspected honour killing, was buried on Saturday evening.
The youth, aged around 22 years, was admitted to a hospital is condition was stated to be serious.
The incident comes close on the heels of the murder of Mamata allegedly by her father K. Chandraiah on Saturday as she was in love with a youth of some other caste.
Khammam rural SI Nagaraju said that they have not received any complaint of suicide attempt incident.
