Home guard arrested

A home guard, S. Bhikshapathi Raju, who was lodged in Jagtiyal sub-jail in a cheating case, learnt the tricks of vehicle lifting from a property offender and took to stealing vehicles.

The Punjagutta police, who arrested him on Wednesday, recovered 30 motorcycles at his instance.

Raju working at Karimnagar police headquarters was remanded in a cheating case after his second wife made a complaint against him. In jail, Raju met a notorious vehicle lifter Rayini Anjaiah (40) and another person Sher Devender (30).
