A Division Bench of the Hyderabad High Court compromising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganthan and Justice T. Rajini on Tuesday said that it would wait for some more time and then peruse the action taken report by the Transport and Labour Welfare Departments of Andhra Pradesh regarding the implementation of the Motor Transport Workers Act by private bus operators.

The Bench was dealing with a PIL filed by K.V.Subba Reddy. He had alleged that due to non-implementation of these provisions, the drivers and others are overstrained and it is leading to accidents. He referred to the latest accident in Krishna district involving Diwakar Travels.

The officers filed a report before the court stating that they had issued notices to all the private operators and further action would be taken after the replies were received as per rules. The Bench said that it would await the final action taken report and adjourned the case.
