Twenty tractor loads of haystack caught fire at the Sri Padmavathi Go Seva Sadan (Goshala) in Tiruchanur in the early hours on Friday. Police and firemen descended on the spot and fought till dawn to douse the fire. A complaint has been lodged with the Tiruchanur police, though the cause of the accident is not known.

Run by Sri Radha Govinda Goraksha Samithi, the Goshala has 340 animals, which face critical fodder shortage due to the mishap. Founder Krishna Rao sought donation in cash or as fodder to feed the animals. He can be contacted at 92474 06983.
