Former Telugu Desam member of the Rajya Sabha, N. Harikrishna on Monday said he had forewarned the party president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, against having an alliance with the TRS in the 2009 elections and the problem it would create in the two regions. Mr. Harikrishna said the party leadership did not heed his advice that the alliance would result in party losing in a number of constituencies in Telangana and Seemandhra regions.

He was speaking to media persons after paying homage to his father at the NTR memorial here on Monday on the occasion of his birthday. To a question, he revealed that the resignation letter sent to him and other party MPs by the party office, NTR Bhavan, was not in proper format, as it had cited the reason, seeking debate on the Srikrishna Committee report. He was surprised when the Rajya Sabha Chairman told him that his resignation could not be accepted as it had this condition. Only after he gave a fresh letter that it was accepted. He said he would begin his yatra on “Chaitanya Ratham” soon from NTR’s native village, Nimmakuru in Krishna dt..
