Guntur civic body plans to beautify roads

Central dividers, bus bays, bus shelters, footpath, gardens, etc. will be developed as part of beautification process

Driving into the city from Ponnur Road and through Inner Ring Road or Amaravati Road will soon be a pleasant experience as the Guntur Municipal Corporation is soon beautifying the entire stretch of road from Gorantla to Lodge Centre.

The beautification replete with central divider, bus bays, bus shelter, pedestrian footpath, manicured gardens on the divider is being done with the assistance of leading designer, Team One India, architects based out of Hyderabad.

The firm had also given a design to develop a water body at Budampadu on Ponnur Road. Besides, a walking track, children’s park the water body would be beautified into a tourist spot.

Tenders soon

Municipal Commissioner S. Nagalakshmi, who reviewed a power point presentation on the proposals given by the firm said that soon tenders would be invited to develop the Amaravati Road into a beautiful corridor.
