Guilt drives woman to return stolen baby

January 25, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - TIRUPATI:

A newborn, who was recently abducted from the Tirupati's Government Maternity Hospital on January 20 (Tuesday), was found on the premises of the government hospital in Piler on Saturday.

According to sources, the baby girl was abandoned at the hospital by an unidentified woman. She also left a note wrapped in a plastic cover stating the reason for such move, with the request that the infant be returned to her parents.

The letter said that she stole the baby from the hospital in Tirupati as she was childless and wanted a baby. But, after realising the misery she had caused to the baby’s parents, she decided to leave the baby at the hospital in Piler.

The doctors informed the same to the police who communicated to the girl’s parents. The girl was handed over to the parents on Saturday evening.
