Guidelines to set up night shelters

The State government has issued guidelines to Non-Governmental Organisations in regard to establishing ‘night shelters’ in all the districts. Chief Secretary I Y R Krishna Rao held a video conference with Collectors on Friday.

He reviewed on night shelters and issues relating to land acquisition for irrigation projects, railways, roads and buildings, drinking water, smart villages and smart wards and merger of revenue mandals in East and West Godavari districts.

According to an official release, the Chief Secretary suggested providing emergency health care services for inmates of the shelters in all districts. He discussed the progress of land acquisition for various projects with the Collectors. Officials from South Central Railway, who also attended, interacted with the Collectors on land acquisition and survey for nine railway projects.

The Chief Secretary directed the Guntur Collector to issue a notification for acquiring land for Nadikudi-Srikalahasthi Railway line immediately.
