In a phishing scam, an unidentified phisher hacked the e-mail account of a granite exporter in Prakasam district and defrauded a Chinese granite importer of $1.25 lakh.

Superintendent of Police Ch.Srikanth told reporters here on Tuesday that hacking the email account of Anjani Exporters chief Challa Srinivasa Rao, the hacker had got transferred the amount meant for import of rough granite blocks from the black galaxy town of Chimakurthi, to an account in a bank in London.

The SP said “this is a typical Nigerian e-mail scam case. Our IT core team will probe it taking the assistance of Cyber Crime Police Station, Hyderabad”.
