Representatives of a non-governmental organisation, Parivaratan Trust, urged Srikakulam Collector K. Dhanunjaya Reddy not to consider the application of government whip Kuna Ravikumar who applied for sanction of land on lease basis in Chiguruvalasa Panchayat of Sarubujjili mandal for development of horticulture crops.

The trust president and AITAM College professor Chintada Ravikumar met the Collector in the grievance cell on Monday and requested that the government lands should be utilised for construction of hostels and government buildings. “Mr. Ravikumar is supposed to protect the lands of the government. But he is trying to acquire over 50 acres of prime land for personal gain. Our trust will strongly oppose the proposal. We will take up agitations until his application is rejected,” said Mr. Ravikumar.
