Reiterating that the State government was committed to waiving the loans availed by the women SHGs, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Sunday said that owing to the prevailing financial crisis, the process was getting delayed. “In a bid to fulfil the poll promises, the government has already waived the farm loans. On the same lines, we are making arrangements to waive the SHG loans very soon,” Mr. Ramakrishnudu said. Along with Home Minister N. Chinna Rajappa, Mr. Ramakrishnudu inaugurated the ‘Stree Shakti’ building at Ramanayyapeta on the city outskirts, which was constructed at a cost of Rs. 37 lakh.

Speaking on the occasion, the Finance Minister said that a fund of Rs. 7,000 crore was required to waive the SHG loans and Rs. 1,500 crore had already been earmarked in the budget for the scheme.
