Kiran directs Minnie Mathew to accord police honours for the funeral
Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed shock and grief at the “tragic and untimely” death of senior TDP leader K. Yerran Naidu in a road accident early on Friday morning.
Union Minister K. Chiranjeevi, AP Congress Committee president Botcha Satyanarayana, CPI (M) general secretary Prakash Karat, Lok Satta president Jayaprakash Narayan, YSR Congress honorary president Y.S. Vijayamma, senior BJP leaders and others condoled the death of Yerran Naidu. Expressing shock over the sudden demise, they conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
Mr. Narasimhan described Yerran Naidu as a good parliamentarian with a friendly disposition to all and said the State lost a good political leader in his death.
The Chief Minister recalled that the deceased was an able parliamentarian and worked hard for the uplift of weaker sections and downtrodden. He directed Chief Secretary Minnie Mathew to accord police honours for Yerran Naidu’s funeral.
Mr. Chandrababu Naidu recalled the services rendered by the deceased to people as well as the party in different portfolios as a Minister, Chief Whip and party’s Polit Bureau member, especially when the party faced crises. He said he lost his right hand in the death of Yerran Naidu who was committed to the party’s cause till he breathed his last.
Expressing shock at the demise of Yerran Naidu, Mr. Chiranjeevi and Mr. Botcha recalled how the deceased hailing from a farmer’s family grew from strength to strength with his hard work to occupy important positions in the State as well as the Centre.
