Andhra Pradesh Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on Wednesday accepted the resignation of Chief Minister K. Rosaiah.

The Governor, however, asked Mr. Rosaiah to continue in the post till alternative arrangements were made, a Raj Bhavan spokesman said.

Mr. Rosaiah called on the Governor in the afternoon and tendered his resignation citing “personal reasons.”

The Congress Legislature Party is meeting this evening to elect its new leader in place of Mr. Rosaiah.
