She gets attracted to the lavish lifestyle of her friend who worked as a junior artiste in some films

The glamour of the film world seems to have made a schoolgirl run away along with an older friend.

Though it was initially suspected that the older girl had kidnapped the minor, interrogation by the Government Railway Police (GRP) has revealed that the minor was attracted by the lavish lifestyle of her friend.

The 13-year-old girl of Yousufguda in Hyderabad is studying in 8 class and Pinky (20) of Nizamabad used to live next door.

The two girls were friends for the past one year. Pinky was employed as a receptionist in Hyderabad and had also worked as junior artiste in some films, according to GRP Inspector Parthasarathy.

Pinky had seen a classified advertisement in the newspapers calling for interview as a receptionist in Vizag and told her minor friend about her plan to go for the interview.

Her friend wanted to accompany her but expressed apprehensions that her parents would not allow it. The two friends left for Nizamabad by bus on Tuesday and stayed at Pinky’s friend’s place there.

The girl’s parents lodged a complaint at the Banjara Hills police station, when their daughter had not returned home on Tuesday evening.

The Banjara Hills police went to Nizamabad and made enquiries and learnt that the two girls had left for Visakhapatnam by Nanded Express and informed the Vizag GRP.

“Pinky had shown the advertisement calling for interview for the post of receptionist but there was no response on the number.

We have also called her friends in Nizamabad on the phone and they have confirmed that Pinky had come along with her friend but the younger one was addressing her as ‘akka, akka’ (sister) and seemed to have come of her own free will,” said Mr. Parthasarathy.

“We will hand over the minor girl to her parents and the case to the Banjara Hills police for further investigation,” Deputy Superintendent of Police (GRP) S. Venkata Rao said.
