‘Give govt. a chance todevelop Nandyal’

‘Jagan’s remarks against Naidu could stunt his political growth’

Rajya Sabha member T.G. Venkatesh on Friday appealed to the people of Nandyal to elect TDP candidate Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy and give the State government a chance to develop Nandyal constituency.

Though the people of Kurnool district in general and Nandyal constituency in particular did not patronise the TDP in the 2014 elections, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu resolved recently to develop Nandyal and sanctioned funds, and people must not forego the scope for development of Nandyal, Mr. Venkatesh told the media in Kurnool.

If Nandyal was not developed as they expected, the people can use their vote as a weapon in the 2019 general elections, the MP said.

Personal slander

Referring to Leader of Opposition Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s remarks, he said his personal slander of Mr. Naidu, who was his father Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s contemporary, could stunt his future political growth.

Mr. Naidu and Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had been friends while in the Congress and they had a right to criticise each other, but it was improper for Mr. Jagan to do so, he remarked.

Corporation for Arya Vysyas

Welcoming Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s assurance to form Arya Vysya Corporation, Mr. Venkatesh recalled that the Chief Minister had agreed in principle one year ago to form the Arya Vysya Corporation. However, he assured to take a decision after eliciting the opinion of intellectuals on whether to form a corporation exclusively for Arya Vysyas or one for the welfare of all the OCs, he added.

Describing Mr. Naidu as a trendsetter in setting up corporations for the welfare of various castes, the TDP leader said the chances of forming Arya Vysya Corporation were bright.
