A 14-year-old girl was reportedly raped at her residence in Khajigudem of Pedapadu mandal four days ago and the incident came to light on Thursday with the girl’s parents lodging a complaint with the Pedapadu police. The girl was sent to the area hospital for medical examination.
The victim reportedly told her mother about the incident on Thursday, but could not give complete details.
The mother suspects the involvement of a close relative in the offence.
She also alleged that a few of her relatives might have instigated the accused to resort to the crime in a bid to settle scores.
The police registered a case and were on the lookout for the accused.
