Girl not allowed to write exam, attempts suicide

When the Board of Intermediate authorities refused to allow her to take the exam on Monday, she got depressed and resorted to the extreme step.

Priyanka, studying B. Sc II year at Nishita College in the town, jumped from the fifth floor of SSR College building on Monday morning after she was reportedly denied entry into the examination hall as she was allegedly caught indulging in copying in the annual examinations, on Saturday.

When the Board of Intermediate authorities refused to allow her to take the exam on Monday, she got depressed and resorted to the extreme step. The authorities expressed helplessness even after her father Gangadhar, working at the District Police Office, requested them to allow her to write the exam .

The condition of Priyanka, who was admitted to a private hospital with multiple fractures, is said to be grim. Deputy SP, S. Anilkumar and Circle Inspector of Police N. Yadaiah rushed to the spot and launched investigation.
