Minister ninth-accused in charge-sheet filed by CBI

Minister for Major Industries J. Geetha Reddy, three IAS officers, and 10 others were summoned by the Principal Special Court for CBI Cases here on Thursday to appear before it on November 15 in the Lepakshi Knowledge Hub (LKH) aspect of the quid pro quo investments case.

Ms. Geetha Reddy is the ninth-accused in the charge-sheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on September 17.

She has been charged with committing irregularities in the allotment of 8,848 acres land to LKH in Anantapur district.

Others accused in the case who are being summoned are Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, V. Vijay Sai Reddy, Indu Group Chairman I. Syam Prasad Reddy, Indu Projects Ltd, Lepakshi Knowledge Hub, Managing Director of LKH Srinivasa Balaji, IAS officers B.P. Acharya, B. Sam Bob and M. Samuel, former Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao, D. Muralidhar Reddy, Kumarbabu Prabhakar and Jagati Publications in that order.

The court did not take into cognizance charges made under the Prevention of Corruption Act against the three IAS officers for lack of permission from the government.

However, it has taken the charges under the Act against Ms. Geeta Reddy and Mr. Dharmana Prasada Rao under the provisions of IPC.
