At a time when the Congress and YSR Congress are facing corruption charges, Krishna District In-Charge and senior TDP leader G. Butchaiah Chowdary appealed to the grassroots level party men to strengthen it and gear up for the Assembly elections in 2014.
Addressing the gathering at the Mini-Mahanadu here on Saturday, Mr. Butchaiah Chowdary said that the time had come for the party men to prove that TDP would be the only political party in Andhra Pradesh to promise better and transparent governance and fulfil it. The efforts of grassroots level party men would decide the fate of the TDP in the coming Assembly elections, he added.
There was a huge gathering of TDP cadres in Krishna District for the day-long Mini-Mahanadu despite the scorching heat. Chaired by party District President Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, TDP senior leaders accepted the list of issues related to Krishna District, which would be discussed at the Mahanadu on May 27 and 28.
The cadres of the party accepted the list of priorities of the party that include finding an amicable solution for long-pending proposal of Bandar Port.
However, every leader who addressed the gathering at the Mini-Mahanadu concentrated on how Congress leaders had driven the State into a financial crisis after the TDP rule. “Congress Ministers’ involvement is alleged in every project right from setting up of power plants to construction of irrigation projects and of late, allocation of land to multinational companies in the name of development,” said senior leader and former State Minister Nettam Raghuram. “The TDP has realised the need to revive the State economy on a war-footing and take measures to provide better living conditions. The TDP’s Rythu Bazaar concept was a classic example of how Andhra Pradesh farmers had better marketing connectivity,” he added.
