Ganta lashes out at Congress

February 01, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:52 am IST - Tirumala:

Human Resource Development Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao has termed the decision to field a candidate by the Congress party in the by-elections for Tirupati Assembly constituency as unethical.

Mr. Srinivasa Rao said the decision was not only against the spirit of understanding reached between the political parties not to field a candidate in the event of death of any legislator while in the office but also raised questions with regard to its righteousness for which the Congress party owes an explanation.

Talking to media persons here on Saturday Mr. Srinivasa Rao reiterated that the TDP had maintained the spirit in the run up to the by-elections for the Allagadda constituency.

Victory imminent

Even though the massive victory of the TDP candidate Suguna is imminent the HRD Minister wondered if her rival Congress candidate would at least secure her deposit.
