‘No one would be left in the party if action is taken against those opposing CWC decision on Telangana’

In a strong rebuttal to PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana’s remarks that action will be taken against those opposing Congress Working Committee’s (CWC) decision on Telangana, Minister for Infrastructure Ganta Srinivasa Rao said then no one would be left in the party.

Talking to media persons here on Wednesday, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said one should recall that every one from the Chief Minister, PCC president to the MLAs and MPs of Seemandhra appended their signatures on the resolution sent to the CWC opposing bifurcation.

All in Seemandhra region were opposing bifurcation tooth and nail.

He also refuted Mr. Botcha’s remark that only those who were eyeing other parties were berating the Congress party.

“What about the political parties that are eyeing other parties then?” he quipped.

Explaining the stand of the Seemandhra Congress leaders, he said the party high command should understand why there was such strong opposition to bifurcation.

All suggestions given so far on the status of Hyderabad, Bhadrachalam, etc., were only giving rise to more complexities.

At a time when the Congress was going through a crisis, one should make an effort to understand people’s concerns and how to convince them through amicable solutions.
