Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao met the family members of Mangipudi Sai Srinivas, an engineer from Visakhapatnam, working in Nigeria, who was kidnapped and later released, at their residence here on Sunday.

Mr. Sai Srinivas and his colleague Anish Sharma were abducted by a local gang in Nigeria on June 29.

They were released by their abductors on Saturday morning.

The Minister talked to Sai Srinivas’s wife Sri Lalita and also with her daughter and son and told them that Mr. Srinivas was still undergoing medical check-up in Nigeria and would return home on completion of the formalities in that country.

The Minister commended Sri Lalita for summing up her courage in difficult circumstances.
