Galla elected State Olympic Association chief

Guntur MP and industrialist Jayadev Galla has been unanimously elected as the president of Andhra Pradesh Olympic Association at the elections held in Tirupati on Saturday.

Being a tennis player and a sports enthusiast, Mr. Jayadev regularly provides sponsorships to sporting events across the State through his flagship brand ‘Amara Raja’. Former Minister K.E. Prabhakar was elected the chairman. The other members are vice-presidents: Punnaiah Chowdary, B. Venkatramaiah, Sultan and J. Ramana Rao; secretary R.K. Purushotham, treasurer: K. Padmanabham and joint secretaries A.V. Raghavendra Rao, G. Ayyalu and M. Syam Babu. These apart, there are three associate joint secretaries and 15 executive committee members in the body, which will have a four-year term.
