Holi was celebrated with fun and frolic in Andhra Pradesh on Monday.

Governor E. S. L. Narasimhan celebrated Holi in the Raj Bhavan and CPI State Secretary K. Narayana, city police commissioner A. K. Khan and several other officials were present on the occasion.

Mr. Narasimhan wished that Andhra Pradesh emerged as the number one state in the country in terms of development.

Chief Minister K. Rosaiah’s residence also wore a festival look as he played Holi with a group of tribals and others. Health Minister D. Nagender, who hails from Hyderabad, also celebrated the festival at the Chief Minister’s residence.

Shedding his serious appearance, Telugu Desam Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu beat a drum and joined a group of tribals in dance.

At several housing societies, people of all age groups were seen smearing each others’ faces with colours and frolicking with coloured water.

IT and Sports Minister K. Venkat Reddy led a bike rally in his native Nalgonda wishing people.

Congress MP P. Prabhakar celebrated the festival in his Lok Sabha constituency of Karimnagar.

Hundreds of Holi revellers thronged the Ramakrishna beach in the port city of Visakhapatnam for celebrating the festival.
