It was a real Independence Day for over one lakh people on Monday with the official inauguration of two bridges constructed over the Nagavali river.

Although the bridges were ready almost two months ago, the government had not allowed vehicles due to local politics. Recently, YSR Congress leaders, including former Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao, visited the new bridge and broke coconuts, causing embarrassment to the ruling party leaders. The Dharmana group argued that the construction of the bridges had begun during the Congress regime and the TDP cannot take credit for it. To prevent such happenings, movement of vehicles was blocked on both the bridges.

Labour Minister K. Atchannaidu and Srikakulam MLA Gunda Lakshmi Devi inaugurated the bridges formally allowing vehicles.
