Accusing Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of trying to win the Nandyal byelection through backdoor methods, Leader of Opposition Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday promised to develop Nandyal constituency by declaring it a district headquarters if he regained power in 2019 elections.

Assuring to declare every Parliamentary constituency as a district, he promised to devote his attention to Nandyal on a par with Pulivendula and construct free houses for the poor. Reiterating his charge that Mr. Naidu failed to develop the State and keep up his promises since he regained power, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy asserted on the 14th day of his road show at Gandhi Chowk in Nandyal town that he would construct Gundrevula project and render justice to victims of Agrigold and Kesava Reddy deposit scams within three months of gaining power.

Plea to people

The TDP was perturbed at the turnout of people to his road shows and Mr. Naidu spoke out of frustration, he alleged. Urging the people to vote for Silpa Mohan Reddy and side with justice, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy remarked that he would pull down Mr. Naidu’s shirt and Marketing Minister C. Adinarayana Reddy’s trousers if needed. The people should question any leader failing to keep promises by holding him by the collar, he said. He promised to implement schemes of YSR rule and his Navaratna schemes for the welfare of all sections of people. Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy wound up his electioneering after his road show covered the Traffic police station circle, municipal park, Chand Bada, Fathima school, Saheb Darga, and Gandhi Chowk.
