Free coaching for girls in APRJC, CEEP

In order to help rural girls secure admissions in Andhra Pradesh Residential Junior Colleges (APRJC) and excel in the Polytechnic Entrance Examinations, the Rajiv Vidya Mission (RVM) Karimnagar district unit had launched a free coaching camp for the girl students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika vidyalayas (KGBV) in Karimnagar district.

First in State

Stated to be first-of-its-kind in the State, the RVM authorities have conducted admission test for the selection of students for free coaching.

Out of 178 students, 118 got qualified and undergoing coaching at the KGBV in Karimnagar from April 28 onwards. The expert faculty from Maths, Science, Social studies and English were roped in to provide coaching to the girls to excel in the competitive examinations of APRJC and CEEP (polytechnic).

The students were given free boarding and lodging at KGBV. The classes were being held from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and evening 4 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.

RVM Academic monitoring officer A. Prabhakar Rao and Girl Child Development officer Shailaja Laxmi were acting as course directors.

Karimnagar KGBV Special Officer D. Srilatha said that a total of 39 students were preparing for APRJC and 79 students for polytechnic entrance examination and 34 for both the examinations.

She said that they had distributed study material and conducting daily tests and also model tests to remove fear of the examination among the students. She exuded with confidence that majority of students would secure admissions in their respective streams after the examination.

Swaroopa, a student from Chandurthi mandal said that the coaching camp was very useful to them as it removed fear of the common entrance examination and added that her confidence levels had improved considerably.
