Four of family killed in road accident

Four of a family from Ballari were killed in a head-on collision between a four-wheeler, in which they were travelling, and a lorry on Ballari–Challakeri State highway near D. Hirehal in Andhra Pradesh, around 20 km from here, on Wednesday. The police gave the names of the dead as Ravi Shankar (53), principal of Sanjay Gandhi Polytechnic, his wife Suguna (50), and their two sons Veeresh (23) and Sumant (19).

The police said the family was heading to Bengaluru for Ravi Shankar’s medical check-up when the accident occurred.
