In a tragic incident, four girls and a woman of Velampadu Dalitwada of Srikalahasti rural mandal, 35 km from here, met a watery grave at a quarry site, on Sunday morning.
Village panchayat secretary Chenchaiah told The Hindu that the women reached the quarry site around 10 a.m. and started washing their clothes. Three girls slid into the 15-feet-deep pool, and the other two who went to rescue them, met the same fate.
