Former Praja Rajyam leader D. Vishnuvardhan Reddy was denied bail by the court here on Wednesday. Mr. Reddy was remanded to custody in a SC, ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act case. The police contested the bail on the ground that his freedom would hamper investigation of the cases pending against him. Meanwhile, the supporters of Mr. Vishnuvardhan Reddy wound up relay hunger strike camp and the advocate representing the case, Jayalakshmi, convinced the protesters to call off the strike as the case has to be represented technically which would be done by the professionals.

The supporters of Mr. Reddy including activists of MIM took out a rally in support of him. The students’ wing also submitted a memorandum to the Collector accusing the police of acting with vengeance.
