The police on Wednesday arrested former Peddapuram MLA Pantham Gandhi Mohan and sent him to the sub-jail, following a non-bailable warrant was issued against him by a local court. However, he returned home in two hours after fulfilling the legal formalities.

According to the police, Mr. Gandhi Mohan was among the accused in a case that was registered in Samalkot police station in 2008 in which he was charged with resorting to criminal intimidation and tresspass. As he has failed to appear before the court since 2011, the magistrate issued a non-bailable warrant against him.

The police arrested Mr. Gandhi Mohan when he was returning from the office of the Returning Officer after withdrawing his nomination as an independent candidate the Peddapuram Assembly constituency.
