Former Primary Education Minister and Congress MLA from Singanamala constituency Sake Sailajanath is facing a political crisis even as the general elections are nearing .
Mr. Sailajanath, who played the generals role for former Chief Minister and Jai Samaikyandhra Party (JSP) president N. Kiran Kumar Reddy when the bifurcation Bill had come before the Assembly and was subsequently announced as the vice-president of the JSP, had, for some time harboured hopes of making it into the TDP like the other Congress leaders from the district.
In fact, hopes of his joining were ripe just a week ago until it is believed that J.C. Diwakar Reddy pulled the brakes on the proposal when he told TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu that hopes of winning the Anantapur parliamentary segment as well as the Singanamala assembly segment might well be doomed if Mr. Sailajanath were to be given the ticket. Senior TDP leaders in the district said that the TDP supremo had dropped the idea of admitting Sailajanath into the TDP.
Meanwhile, the fact that Mr. Sailajanath had made the approach towards the TDP inspite of being made the vice-president of the JSP, Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy is also learnt to be averse to encouraging him any further . Mr. Sailajanath faces a scenario where no party wants him while he remains a member of the Congress party and also the vice-president of the JSP.
Quite a fix indeed, not just for Mr. Sailajanath but also for people following the political situation in the district and trying to figure out where the erstwhile Minister shall fit in the current political scenario.
