40 persons taken ill in Srikakulam district

As many as 40 persons were hospitalised after eating stale food in Antili village of Palakonda division in the district on Friday. According to police, locals distributed Friday ‘Payasam’ which was prepared on Thursday night in a marriage function. The persons who ate the stale food suffered stomach pain and vomiting. They were admitted in Palakonda hospital where their condition is stable.

Joint Collector Vivek Yadav spoke to doctors directed them to provide best medical care. Doctors said all patients, barring a few children, were recovering.
