Focus on research, Startup Village founder tells students

Startup Village chief executive officer Sanjay Vijay Kumar on Saturday suggested youngsters to concentrate on research and innovative projects instead of settling down as employees of reputed companies.

. He interacted with the students of Aditya Institute of Technology and Management (AITAM)-Tekkali and observed their latest experiments in robotics, mobile applications and other projects. The students shared their ideas at length with Mr. Sanjay. He said that he had started Startup Village programme in Kerala during college days and could get many opportunities to meet the top executives of various companies including one of the Infosys founders Kris Gopala Krishnan.

“All the graduates should think differently and aim to start their own companies. I hope the universities and colleges would also change their curriculum to suit the present needs of the industry,” Mr. Sanjay said during his interaction with faculty and selected students.

He hailed Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for giving top priority for Startup Village programme while urging him to sanction more funds to set up business incubation centres at various places. AITAM chairman Konchada Someswara Rao, director V.V. Nageswara Rao told him that the college made changes in the curriculum in tune with the industry needs. College secretary L.L. Naidu, principal Madhu Sahu, AITAM’s Industry-Institute Partnership Cell head B. Rajesh said Mr. Sanjay’s achievements would certainly inspire the students and make them industrialists in future.
