Flight cancelled as rains cause snag at airport

March 05, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - TIRUPATI:

Heavy rains that lashed Tirupati on Tuesday evening caused a technical snag in the airport’s communication system, leading to the cancellation of a flight on Wednesday morning.

The airport authorities attributed the snag to the sudden downpour, which was accompanied by lightning. As a result, the 1051-52 Hyderabad-Tirupati Spicejet flight was cancelled. However, the system was restored around 11 am on Wednesday morning, following which the airline resumed flight.

No official of the Airports Authority of India was immediately available for comment.
