Three people of a family died when their car hit a stationary vehicle on NH-65 near Toopranpet village under Choutuppal town Police station limits in Nalgonda on Wednesday morning. In yet another car accident later, two persons were killed.
The victims were identified as Karnati Venkateshwar Rao (52), his mother Sampurnamma (75) and his sister Vasireddy Radha (50), residents of Hyderabad and natives of Krishna district.
According to Sub-inspector of Police, Ch. Sureshbabu, their car proceeding towards Hyderabad from Vijayawada side, rammed into a stationary vehicle while trying to overtake another vehicle from left side. Mr. Rao who was driving the car, died on the spot while the remaining two, who also suffered multiple injuries, succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment in a local hospital.
Two die in another accident
Two more persons were killed in a separate road accident under Choutuppal town police station limits on Wednesday evening as a car hit a bike at Koyyalagudem village on NH-65.
The deceased have been identified as Polepelly Pentaiah (48) and Konekanti Linga Swamy (22), natives of Yellagiri village under the police station limits. They were proceeding towards their village on a two-wheeler when a car knocked them down. They died on the spot as they suffered multiple injuries. The Choutuppal police said that the accident caused a traffic jam on the highway as the local people obstructed the traffic flow in protest. A case was registered.
