Andhra Pradesh Creativity and Culture Commission (APCCC) Chief Executive Officer D. Vizai Bhaskar on Wednesday said the five-day art, craft, creative writing and story telling workshop to Street Kids Community Village (SKCV) students was an effort by the State government to ignite creative passion among them and provide a platform to learn their chosen art form from experts.

Speaking on the sidelines of the workshop organized at The Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA), he said it was the social responsibility of everyone to help street kids reach greater heights in their lives for they were deprived of parental love and care. “They are our children and we should provide them the best of opportunities to lead a respectable life,” he said.

Mr. Bhaskar said the APCCC was concerned about the steep fall in poetry writing skills among modern-day youth and was keen on training them by involving the social, cultural and literary organizations spread across the State. “This initiative will be taken under ‘Sahitya Bhavishya Nidhi’ programme and we are also planning to encourage other literary pursuits which are on the wane”.

Later, he distributed art and craft kits to the kids.

A. Sridhar Reddy, Chairman, SKCV, Munjuluri Krishna Kumari, Former Director, All India Radio, Bandla Madhava Rao, Director, Sikhara School, Sandeep Mandava, CEO, Malaxmi Property Ventures Pvt. Ltd., Golla Narayana Rao, Secretary, Andhra Arts Academy attended the inaugural session.

The training classes will be conducted from 9.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. every day. Arts and crafts created will be displayed at CCVA on May 20.
