The first anniversary of Ramgarh or Ramaguda exchange of fire between the banned CPI (Maoist) and the Greyhounds, the elite anti-naxal force of Andhra Pradesh, passed off peacefully in the Agency area of Visakhapatnam district on Tuesday.

Contrary to the anticipation of the security forces that the Maoists might resort to some violent action, no untoward incident was reported.

A couple of meetings were organised by the cadres of the banned organisation. It is learnt that Gajarla Ravi alias Uday, chief of the organisation’s Andhra-Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee, held a meeting close to Ramgarh.

On October 24 last, 30 Maoists were killed in the alleged exchange of fire at Ramgarh or Ramaguda.
