‘Financial accounting, data analytics are growth drivers’

Adopt new-age technologies, advises Nasscom member

National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) executive council member Keshav R. Murugesh on Friday said in the era of disruptive technologies, financial accounting and data analytics would be the key drivers of growth.

Speaking at ‘Nasscom Connect’ meeting held here to highlight the importance of World Congress on IT being hosted in Hyderabad from February 19 to 21 by the Nasscom and the World IT & Services Alliance and Network on the theme ‘Amplify digital disrupt core,’ he said of late automation had become the buzzword.

He said artificial intelligence and machine learning was also becoming popular due to demand for robotics and embedded devices for multiple applications.

Stating that most of the jobs had been created in business process management (BPM) sector, Mr. Murugesh, who is the global CEO of WNS, said due to disruptive technologies, the future would be bright if new age technologies were adopted.

He was also confident of Vizag emerging as a prominent IT hub due to its strategic location and commitment of the State government to popularise new technologies.

‘Focus on Vizag’

Speaking at the meeting, Special Chief Secretary and IT Adviser to Chief Minister J.A. Chowdary said they were laying emphasis on developing Vizag as a centre for fintech. He said several companies were investing in the city as the ecosystem was being strengthened after launching used case repository.

Nasscom Regional Director Srikanth Srinivasan, Software Technology Parks of India Joint Director M.P. Dubey, IT Association of Andhra Pradesh president Ravi Eswarapu and secretary Sridhar Kosaraju, Symbiosys Technology CEO Naresh Kumar, Maple Software CEO G.S. Sivkumar and others were present.
